The Zoning Committee passed Alderman Moreno’s Work–Live Ordinance, which will allow business owners to have a live-unit in their business.

In NBC’s Ward Room blog, Alderman Moreno’s election victory for Democratic Committeeman was called, “a victory for a rising progressive, minority politician in the mold of Barack Obama and Toni Preckwinkle.”

A business owner in Humboldt Park made some controversial and disparaging comments about that neighborhood. Alderman Moreno attended a protest and made his feelings known.
Moreno accepted her apology, later that day, after reading it on Facebook.

At the March meeting of the City Council, Moreno unveiled plans to introduce an ordinance that establishes a transgender issues commission in the Chicago Police Department as well as set guidelines for police to follow while handling transgender people.
